Horses and animals in general have been a lifetime passion of mine. From a horse crazy middle schooler, to now a horse crazy middle age woman, horses have always been a part of my life. When my children were younger, I raised miniature horses. Two mares of which still reside with us today. Our 23 year old "Charm' and 15 year old "Rosie". The presence of a horse evokes a peace and calm that can only be felt in my heart. I have been led on a journey towards Gypsy Vanners, becoming enthralled with their gentle, intelligent and versatile natures. My vision is a low volume high quality breeding program that remains extremely hands on and quality driven. This goes hand in hand with the education and wellness work that I long to do. I invite you to join me as I build a dream from the ground up. Same LOVE of horses, just a new location, new facility and new vision. - Krista Long
The quarter horse gals pictured above carried us on many trail rides for many years. The girls are off to college and therefore these beautiful mares found themselves new amazing riders. I've reached the age where I'm seeking calmness and peace, but will be forever grateful for the time I've spent with my daughters on the backs of some great horses.

Throwback to the miniature horse days!! Our girls were the perfect size. My breeding program consisted of roughly 20 mares and 2 stallions. In front our old gal "Charm" who is now 23 years young. Behind is a mare we called "Lacy". The picture is a newspaper clipping from a parade we attended.
Nothing beats capturing the herd through the wildflowers. Alot of time is spent outside enjoying the company of our animals.

Before we became Lotus Haven Ranch, we were Windy Ridge Livestock. We bred registered Angus and Simmental cattle, registered American Boer Goats, registered and commercial Katahdin Hair Sheep, Nigerian Dwarf goats, Great Pyrenees Livestock Guardian Dogs, AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgis, American Corgis and had quite the flock of chickens, heritage turkeys and ducks. It was some of the toughest and most rewarding years of our lives. Raising our family on our farm. Welcoming new life what seemed like on the daily. Its fun to reminisce as I write this. Our family enjoyed the farm days. But as with anything, kids grow up, interests change and so does the farm. There aren't many species we haven't had the privilege of owning and caring for. As we've gotten older we have condensed so much on the farm. To refocus, regroup and re-prioritize. Our original farm was over 375 acres, which we downsized in 2020 to 70 acres. In 2026 we will downsize again onto 12.5 acres. It is a time of change for us. We've rebranded, refocused and look forward to the future. We are excited for this new journey where we will live alongside our Gypsy Vanners, Corgis, Great Pyrenees and Barn Cats. I am an open book if you have any questions at all on what adventures we've been on in the past, or what adventures we plan in the future. Excited to have you along for the ride.
